All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”- A Shakespearean phrase perfectly sums up the world as a theatre. Game of Thrones stars, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), shared their theatre experience with Vogue.

Vogue presented the Game of Thrones alums with a host of questions. Here’s how they responded:

Vogue: What do you love the most about        theatre?

Emilia: Oh my goodness! What I love most about going to the theatre… Never thought about it before, it’s the most beautiful experience.

Indira: It’s escape isn’t it?

Vogue: What is your most memorable moment in a theatre?

Emilia: I was doing Holly GoLightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and there was a stupid scene. I was in a bath and this one particular night I’m butt-naked, slippery from being in the bath. I’m running and I just psssssh (making slipping and landing on butt gesture with hands). I was feeling like I had broken something and then the guys in the flies just being like- “Oh! You alright sweetie?”

Indira: I mean my very first performance. When I was 5 at school and I was angel Gabriel.

Vogue: What is your top tip for learning lines?

Emilia: When I’m just by myself I do it to my cooker, my oven or I record myself or just badger friends.

Indira: My top tip for learning lines… (f*****g hate learning lines) I mean like I need tips myself. I think it’s about repetition.

Vogue: Sum up performing in theatre in 3 words.

Emilia: Um raw, electric and home.

Indira: One word is never enough is it, um journalized, communication, fear.
