Fortunately for those who don’t have much extra space in their home for physical board games or other tabletop-loving friends to play with, many of the best board games tend to make their way to digital platforms, and one great strategy game is making its way to Steam this year. Publisher Asmodee Digital has announced A Game of Thrones: The Board Game – Digital Edition will launch in Q3 2020 on Steam for both PC and Mac. The asymmetrical strategy game is based on the physical board game of the same name and, of course, the fantasy series created by George R. R. Martin. The digital edition is now available to wishlist on Steam.

In the Game of Thrones board game, which is rated among BoardGameGeek‘s top 150 board games of all time, you’ll take charge of one of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, which are vying for control of the Iron Throne through use of diplomacy and warfare. The game also involves resource management, area occupation, hidden action orders, and hero cards featuring characters from the series. In true Game of Thrones fashion, the board game also involves forming alliances and making promises that are never binding and may involve back-stabbing.

Great board game deals today:

Up to six players will be able to play online, or you can play solo with up to five AI opponents (the perks of playing online board games). There will also be digital exclusive challenges based on the War of the Five Kings.

If you’re still mostly stuck at home, it might be hard to play some of these games without having friends over, but many of them have digital versions on Steam, including Gloomhaven, Scythe, and Blood Rage.
