The Mother of Dragons has hailed a play by a Hull theatre company as “mind-blowing”.

Middle Child Theatre are currently performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the play The Canary and the Crow, which tells the story of a working class black boy at a prestigious grammar school, and the struggle between a new environment that doesn’t accept you and an old one that has no opportunity.

The Hull theatre company, based in a former Porter Street pub, has returned to the prestigious arts festival after winning rave reviews and awards last year, and Emilia Clarke has told her 24 million followers just how great she thinks they are.

Best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen (or Khaleesi) in Game Of Thrones, Emilia has been watching performances in the Scottish capital during the festival, and on an Instagram post said: “The Canary and the Crow @middlechildhull. Mind-blowing and toe-tapping brilliance.”
