We don’t know about you, but we think Emilia Clarke is having a laugh at us and our love of Game Of Thrones.
The actress was recently caught up in a brilliant faux pas when she was seen in an episode of the HBO classic in its final season with a takeaway cup in shot.
It was brilliant and is known as the ‘Starbucks cup’ blunder, even though we should note it wasn’t a Starbucks cup and was instead from a local coffee shop.
Now, in her latest ad for Dolce and Gabbana, the Last Christmas actor is back with the beloved caffeine. Albeit in a slightly more sophisticated setting.
In a shot for the fashion house’s fragrance campaign, Emillia all Daenerys Targaryen-blonde-haired is staring down the camera in a café.
Wearing a black lace gown, the star is being offered a coffee and a half-eaten sandwich but evidently she cares for neither.
Seemingly making a dig at that infamous GOT scene, Emilia wrote in the caption: ‘I’m ignoring the coffee. Forget about the half eaten sandwich.
‘I’m alllll about locking eyes with you and smelling the air, the @dgbeauty #DGTheOnlyOne2 infused air…
‘Hod DAMN that smells good. I suggest you do the same. But you can finish your lunch first.’
Thanks, Meels.
It’s safe to say Johnny Knoxville was loving the look, as he sarcastically (or sincerely, who are we to judge) quipped: ‘OMG that lace is TDF!!’
It comes only a few months after HBO explained how on Westeros a coffee cup was left in the scene of the fantasy epic.
Responding to the gaffe, which has blown up on social media, art director Hauke Richte told Variety it’s not uncommon for items to end up misplaced on set, go unnoticed and appear in the final cuts of movies and TV shows.
The now infamous cup appeared in front of Daenerys on the table at 17.40 minutes into The Starks of Winterfell. Eagle-eyed fans went into a frenzy sharing the clip online, with #Starbucks trending immediately after.
Richte continued: ‘Things can get forgotten on set.
‘[The coffee cup error has been] so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with Thrones so far.’
Hmm we’ll believe you this time.
