Something I didn't know about Ser Barristan Selmy before reading the books: He is a fantastic swordsman. One of the best in the 7 kingdoms.

It's not something they made super clear in the show.

I love the scene where Cat rallies the bannermen to arrest Tyrion. It had come after so many episodes and scenes extolling the virtues of being deceitful, manipulative and generally assholish, and then we have this scene where Cat shows that being a good and honourable lord to your lessers inspires respect and loyalty. After all the shit scummy characters pull, I always look back to this scene.
