Warning: You’re about to read some serious spoilers for season 8, episode 3 of Game Of Thrones.
It’s a normal and inuitive reaction to panic when there’s an army of undead White Walkers heading towards some of your favourite Game Of Thrones characters. But please don’t ring the real life police.
It might seem like a very obvious request to make, but it’s one Queensland Police in Australia felt they had to tweet ahead of the third episode’s airing.
Joking that Winterfell, where the battle took place, is not in their jurisdiction, the force reminded locals that they had no control over the expected deaths and had no dragons at their disposal to help with the fighting.
While there aren’t any reports of worried fans reporting Game Of Thrones casualties to the police, it’s kind of worrying that they felt the need to ask fans not to clog up emergency lines with their fictional worries.
Please don’t call Triple Zero (000) to report deaths at Winterfell, it is not in our jurisdiction and we have no dragons. #BattleofWinterfell #GameofThrones

Again, please do not ring the police to report deaths at Winterfell. If Brienne of Tarth can do nothing to save the fallen, then neither can Queensland Police.
Fans are in mourning following the gruelling battle, which took a whopping 55 nights to film. And while the darkness made it pretty hard to see some of the time, we did bear witness to the last moments of some of the finest characters TV has ever seen.
Ser Jorah fought bravely to protect Dany against the onslaught of wights before he was finally slain, while his cousin Lynna Mormont died at the hands of an undead giant but not before she stabbed him in the eye with deathly dragonglass.
Edd Tollett, Beric and Melisandre all died at various points of the battle, but the heavyweight emotional blow came when Theon Greyjoy lay down his life to protect Bran Stark from the Night King’s wrath.
We still have a lot of questions, especially about what that Arya twist will mean for the rest of the series, but for now we’re just going to spend time reflecting on the memory of our fallen Winterfell soldiers. Before long, the rest of them will have to face Cersei’s army and more will likely die in that battle too.
At least she didn’t get her elephants.
It goes without saying, but please don’t ring the police for any future Game Of Thrones deaths. Arya Stark has proved herself more than capable of looking after our faves until someone takes the Iron Throne once and for all.
