They’re yet to cross paths in Game of Thrones but fans of the HBO epic are going wild for this empowering connection between Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen.

With Dany heading to The Wall in season eight, it seems inevitable that Jon Snow will be introducing his aunt – and lover – to the family.

While we’ve still got months to go before we know any details from Game of Thrones’ final chapter, a Reddit user has picked up on a heroic link between the two female warriors.

They wrote: ‘Season 2 finale, Dany talking to Xaro Xhoan Daxos before locking him away: “Thank you, Xaro Xhoan Daxos. Thank you for teaching me this lesson.”

‘Season 7 finale, Sansa talking to Littlefinger before ordering his execution: “Thank you for all your many lessons Lord Baelish.”

‘Like I said, minor connection. Both girls brought down the men that promised them the world.’

Yes queens!

‘Very nice! I like how you connected that!’ enthused one excitable respondent, which was followed by: ‘Cool connection, both are female main characters as well. Perhaps a way to show that these female rulers are now on par with males?’

‘I would love to see them meet and do something next season,’ beamed a third.

Game of Thrones officially wrapped up filming last month, with Sophie Turner warning viewers that the final run will be ‘full of blood and betrayal’.

Speaking to 1883 magazine, where she was photographed by Brooklyn Beckham no less, Turner revealed: ‘This season is bloodier than ever. It’s full of betrayal, full of war, full of danger. ‘That’s all I can say without giving too much away.’

HBO’s programming Chief Casey Bloys recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly where he managed to spill a few small, albeit important, secrets about the looming conclusion to Game of Thrones.

‘I think it’s epic,’ he assured. ‘I think fans are going to love it. I think it’s a fitting way for one of the greatest shows in the history of television to go out and that people are going to be very happy.

‘There’s going to be a lot of conversation.’

Despite a year of reports suggesting the final six episodes will all be feature length, Bloys squashed them all. ‘Not two hours? ‘Yes, they are not going to be. Not that I’ve seen anyway.’

Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
