Game of Thrones has had a long run, and always done so well with awards. The show recently made its Season 8 awards debut at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, where it won the “Best Show” award. Read on!

The award was given to Jacob Anderson a.k.a. Grey Worm, before the awards even began, on the red carpet itself. This was an unusual move, but Anderson accepted it with grace:

He said:

“A lot of amazing people work on Game of Thrones, so I feel weird being the one to hold this, but I’ve always wanted to hold one of these. So, congratulations to everybody, all the people I love on the show, who have worked incredibly hard, you will get to touch this. Cast and crew, and everybody who’s amazing, we did it!”

Game of Thrones also had three other nominations, Arya v/s the White Walkers was nominated for Best Fight, with Arya getting a second nomination for Maisie Williams, in the Best Hero category. Also nominated was Emilia Clarke for Best Performance in a Show category. However, Game of Thrones didn’t win any of the three. Take a look at the categories:

Well, we at least got this skit of Shazam star Zachary Levi, who hosted the awards, “betraying” Daenerys, which was easily the best part of the ceremony. Take a look:
