Sean Bean has suggested there will be just one of Ned Stark’s children left standing at the end of Game of Thrones.

The 59-year-old recently reunited with the Game of Thrones cast after his entire on screen family filmed their final scenes I the HBO epic, and has now said he thinks that the fearless young warrior Arya Stark will be the only remaining Stark still standing when season eight closes next year.

As it stands, Arya, Sansa, Bran and Jon Snow are still throwing their hats into the ring to be ruler of the Seven Kingdoms – with Jon revealed to actually be the son Lyanna Stark and Rhaeger Taragaryen in season seven, and thus looking likely to being named as The Prince That Was Promised. – aka Azor Ahai.

‘Who’s left?’ Sean asked Mashable. ‘Jon Snow is left, isn’t he? But Arya would have to be it. Yeah Arya will last—maybe she’ll be on the throne.’

Maisie Williams recently dropped a little clue about her final scenes as the young rascal, confirming that the last time we see her she will be alone.

‘I ended on the perfect scene,’ she told Guardian. ‘I was alone – shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone.’

Alone on the Iron Throne? We doubt it, but the 21-year-old also admitted she was ready to leave her life in Westeros behind.

‘I got to the end and I didn’t want more,’ she said. ‘I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just less characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.’

Game of Thrones continues on HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
