Game of Thrones fans were left with a mountain of unanswered questions following the controversial finale, most notably – why didn’t Grey Worm kill Jon Snow?

The rightful heir to the Iron Throne gave up his seat to slay Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) after recognising her ruthless massacre on King’s Landing went too far and whatever would come next with the Mother of Dragons in power was a destruction unimaginable.

Regardless, Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) stood by Dany until the bitter end, while Jon (Kit Harington) was banished and exiled to live the rest of his life at the wall with the rest of the Wildings. So why didn’t the commander of Daenerys’ Unsullied get his revenge?

‘I think he thought enough was enough,’ Jacob – aka Raleigh Ritchie – told crowds at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con.

‘There was a sense he was willing for there to be a trial. He doesn’t want to kill him but he doesn’t want him alive.’

The actor and rapper was joined by several of his co-stars during Game of Thrones’ final panel at the annual event, including Maisie Williams, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Isaac Hempstead Wright as they addressed the onslaught of backlash which drowned the fantasy epic’s final season.

Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff pulled out of the chance to address the hate, which sparked an online petition amassing over 1.5 million signatures calling for the entire final chapter to be rewritten and left the duo with a legacy of being officially named ‘bad writers’ on Google.

Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj was even booed when he tried to defend the Kinslayer’s death, which saw the warrior die in the arms of his lover and sister Cersei (Lena Headey), in the most unjustifiably romantic demise across the show’s eight seasons.

Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV.
