Maisie Williams has assured that while the Game of Thrones finale will be a bitter moment for all of us, it will be a monumental moment on TV.
The 21-year-old – who stars as Arya Stark in the HBO epic – has promised the last chapter to come from the adaptation of George RR Martin’s fantasy series will be one heck of an ‘unexpected’ ride.
Maisie has played the little rascal since she was just 12-years-old, but now it’s the right time for Game of Thrones to end. For her. Not us.
‘I don’t think anyone is going to be satisfied [when it ends] I don’t think anyone wants it to end but I’m really proud of this final season,’ the Bristolian told Sky News.
‘It’s going to be really weird when it’s done and everyday it’s a step closer to it not being a part of my life anymore.’
Though she also coyly insisted no one will see the events of the finale coming. Her exact words: ‘It will be very unexpected.’
The young entrepreneur was speaking at the launch of her new app at Birmingham University, where she also admitted she was ‘very proud’ of the highly-anticipated ending.
‘Coming out of the show, people have been like, “What are you going to do now?” and everyone wants you to do something bigger and better,’ she explained to PA.
‘And if this is what you started with, where are you going to go?
‘I’m not mad with this show being the best thing I ever do – it changed the game for television and it’s unlike anything we’ve really seen before and it reached audiences that this style of drama has never reached before.
‘I’m not mad if this is as good as it gets – it was pretty bloody good.’
Maisie stars in the first trailer for season eight, which saw Arya, Sansa and Jon Snow all descending on the House of Stark crypt.
But where was Bran Stark? Fans now think his absence confirms the identity of The Night King and we’re all for it.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 14.
