Back in July, the Hilton Hotel in the city centre was also used for filming of the ITV show which is based on former Metropolitan Police officer Kate London’s series of novels from her time in the police force. The first series followed Killing Eve’s Gemma Whelan and Emmett J. Scanlan as they investigated the deaths of two people after they fell from a tower block.

The three-part drama had viewers hooked when it came to our screens last November – and filming for a new season is now underway. Camera crews were seen parked outside the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool city centre on Monday, July 18, as filming took place inside.

The second series – The Tower II: Death Message – is based on Kate London’s second novel, with Tahirah Shariff as PC Lizzie Adama starring alongside Gemma Whelan, Emmett J Scanlan as DI Kieran Shaw and Jimmy Akingbola as DC Steve Bradshaw.

The release date for the new series is yet to be confirmed.
