About the Harry Potter thing, that theory would never have worked out. The prophecy wasn't even hinted at until Order of the Phoenix, and in Goblet of Fire we learn that Neville's parents were not really attacked on Voldemort's orders (Alice and Frank were tortured for information), meaning there was he did not even indirectly attack Neville. Which makes the issue resolved within the 5th book itself.

Thou shalt not tell Calvin of the details regarding R+L=J, for he shalt figure it out for himself in due course given his natural intelligence and affinity of the Game of Thrones.

The problem is that the show hasn't hinted as strongly about R+L=J as the books do. They've started dropping a lot more hints, but it's really more about how Ned would never sleep around and Rhaegar was a really great guy who would never kidnap or rape anyone. Plus some other winks and nods to the book readers and fans who have heard the r+l=j theory..

But just watching the show and have zero clue about r+l=j, you would never put that together at this point.
