Though ‘Game of Thrones’ may not have ended on the most satisfying note, the fans will still rally to support their favorite houses when the question comes up online, as it did when a popular fan accounted posted that very question. While there was some support for all the houses mentioned, the Starks were the clear winner, being the only house to trend online.
A fan account ‘Game of Thrones Facts’ posed the question to Twitter asking which of the four main houses they supported the most – House Stark, House Targaryen, House Baratheon or House Lannister. While some fans tweeted their more personal favorites, the Stark family were the clear winners, with thousands posting the Stark banner, Stark pictures and, of course, the wolf face emoji to reply to the original tweet.
“Deffss House Stark. Although most of them Died out before half of the series, i feel they stil made mad impact” wrote one fan, online. “House stark was superior from beginning to end i don’t make the rules” wrote another. “Just a reminder… House Stark is the only house that still exists since all the other members of the other houses are all basically dead,” noted another tweet.
The trending hashtag has brought up a lot of mixed memories for the fans, some who choose to focus on the show’s better moments and those who feel reminded of the series’ disappointing end by the trend. “House Stark is trending…and that means it’s time to relive the glory and the eventual disappointment of the GOT series. The ifs and the buts. It hurts man. It hurts a lot,” writes this fan. “House stark is trending and it reminded me of how excited I was for the last season this time a year ago, just for D&D to go and ruin the whole thing,” says this tweet. “House Stark is trending and I swear I just got PTSD from that finale. I’m fucking scarred man. Damn you @GameOfThrones !!! I loved you!!! I LOVED YOUUUU!” writes another fan.
While the original tweet showed that there’s a lot of passion for the show, it’s obvious that there’s still a lot of pain from the series’ end. It appears that no matter how much time passes, ‘Game of Thrones’ is going to go down in history not as a show remembered for its high production value or amazing storytelling, but as one that left the fans disappointed for its ending.
