  1. I don't think this theory works at all for the simple reason that the book is told from multiple points of view, all of with have there own perspective on events & other characters. The only way it works would be if Bran warged in to each POV character then told Sam what he experienced.

Jason on the R2D2 theory & the Force Awakens problem you have, the simple answer is that BB8 shared his files/experience with R2D2.

  2. The reason I love this theory is because jon snow is known as the most heroic beloved character. even dany showed signs of imperfection in season 7. Sam has been friends with jon since season 1 (when Robert dies) and jon treated him nice like nobody else so it would be perfect for Sam to be repaying the favor and showing a targaryen (jon) as he really is, when all the west has ever known is how evil the mad king ( a targaryen) was

  3. The Judge is correct, by estimation. I think the strongest evidence for this is that Jon is portrayed as pure good and Cersei as pure evil. That's something Sam would do because of his feelings for Jon. However, everything else doesn't necessarily fit and it would almost be a bit too contrived, IMO.

  4. ashley robinson is so gorgeous. she has a natural beauty about her and i love how she is comfortable enough in her own skin, that she doesnt feel the need to wear heaps of makeup. also, look at those shoulders, collarbones and neck muscles; you can tell her time in the gym is paying off 🙂

  5. Samwise wasn't fat in the books, he was in the films because Peter Jackson had to put his body and appetite issues on the adapted characters, Sam fat, Denethor a glutton, etc. Just one of many ways Jackson missed the point of the story and screwed up the characters.

  6. I really like this theory, and I really want it to be true! While I definately don't think it's 100% likely, it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. To me, the LOTR parallel is the strongest argument for. George RR Martin has always spoke of the influence of Tolkein's work (especially LOTR) on ASOIAF, including the idea of introducing a number of main characters in one place (Rivendell in LOTR, Winterfell in ASOIAF) then splitting them off into their own journeys, and he freely admits that Samwell Tarly is based on Samwise Gamgee.
Also, why I haven't read GRRM confirming this anywhere, I believe his decision to split A Feast For Crows and the first half of A Dance with Dragons, which occur at the same time, by location rather than chronologically is due to Tolkien doing the same with The Two Towers and Return of the King. So having it end like LOTR, with the idea that this is all a chronicle written by an in-universe character (Sam being the most likely suspect) would make sense.

  7. I agree with Jason that we won't see Samwell finishing the book but I could see him mentioning to another character that he is writing a book about all these events. My only question is how he would know what happened with Danny before she came to Westeros.
