Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington is facing a clash over a boiler installation.

Harington , 32, rose to fame for his role as heroic Jon Snow who manned the Great Wall to protect Westeros from the demonic frozen White Walkers.

He was joined on the show by his future wife Rose Leslie who portrayed wildling spearwoman and Snow’s lover Ygritte in Game of Thrones seasons 2 to 4, a character also used to surviving in the cold.

The couple, who married last year after meeting on the set of the hit HBO fantasy series now wish to upgrade the heating of their Grade II* listed 15th century thatched home Popples Farmhouse close to Stowmarket, Suffolk.

However, Babergh District Council will need to approve the plans of the couple, holding the power to dismiss Harington and Leslie’s plans.

According to East Anglian Daily Times , the report sent to the council said: “The existing boiler is not fit for purpose and is against current regulations.

“This is of greater concern given that Popples is an important listed building and also the areas of thatch in the event of a failure of the current boiler.”

The married couple purchased their home in 2017 for reportedly £1.75 million and have also applied for other previously unauthorised repairs and additional works on the timber frame of the house.

As part of a 8.2 acre estate, the land also includes a moat along with some original farm buildings.

Suffolk superstar Ed Sheeran was apparently the one to recommend the home to Harington and Leslie.

Sheeran, who is friends with Harington, is believed to have persuaded the couple to make their new home in the country.

In a BBC interview earlier this year, Harington revealed: “I was looking all over for a place. I looked in many different areas of the country. I was actually looking in Norfolk and then I kept driving through Suffolk and thinking, ‘I really quite like this county’.

“So I found my own little spot in the county of Suffolk and I’m now a Suffolk boy. I love it. It is really special to me.”
