This guy? Not funny? (Picture: HBO)

We all get that Kit Harington may be keen to hang up his Jon Snow winter coat, but we didn’t realise he was this keen to say hello to some laughter.

In case you didn’t realise, Jon Snow is a serious character. More serious than Kit may have anticipated, perhaps.

The actor, who has played one of the leading roles in the HBO epic, has slowly been dishing his thoughts on pinnacle moments of his character’s time.

Turns out, while we’re sure he loves Jon with all his heart, he doesn’t think the lad is all that fun to be around – and he’s keen to try something a little lighter perhaps.

‘I have played possibly the unfunniest character ever to have graced television,’ he told Emmy Magazine this week.

‘I love comedy. But Jon Snow is not a joke person. It’s quite nice to now subvert what people see you as, and show that you can be funny.’

He added: ‘In some ways comedy works even better if you’re the overly serious guy in a ridiculous comedy; then it can be even funnier.’

We have seen Kit have a bit of a laugh in 7 Days In Hell alongside Andy Samberg (‘indubitably’), so maybe the next time we see the lad on screen it’ll be in a real rib-tickler.

Or, gasp, a romantic comedy. Imagine! (We already are).

The actors of the show have been coming clean on their characters as the final frontier approaches, as this ‘unfunny’ comment can be added to that of ‘retching’ during his sex scene with co-star Emilia Clarke.

Lovely.

The actors have become close friends through making the show which made acting out Jon and Daenerys’s romance tricky, apparently.

‘The first scene we had together we both just started laughing,’ Emilia recently told Variety. ‘Why are you looking at me this strange way and saying these strange lines? You’re my friend?’

Adding that Kit used to pretend to hurl during filming, she said: ‘Oh my God, mate. You’re not making this any easier!’

Game Of Thrones returns 14 April. And is available to watch on NOW TV.
