Kit has admitted that he wants something lighter now Game Of Thrones is done (Picture: HBO)

Kit Harington has admitted that after the dark life of Game Of Thrones, he wants to shake things up a bit with a new role in comedy.

The actor, who plays Jon Snow in the series, has had to deal with all number of bloody, brutal, and deep scenes so now he’s keen to kick back for something a bit different.

(After witnessing some of the horrific scenes, we can’t say we blame him either.)

Speaking to Radio Times, Kit was queen to assert that he didn’t want to be in a rom-com, but getting silly could be more his style.

‘Comedy, yeah, I’d love to. I love it. I love doing really stupid s**t, so that’s what I want to do,’ he told them.

With that in mind, it’s no wonder he threw himself full throttle into his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Acting as host for the satirical sketch show last week, he mocked his role in Game Of Thrones in a low-budget remake, and turned into Winston Churchill to snog the face off Kate McKinnon, who was playing Theresa May.

Kit even stripped down into sexy red lingerie for a bizarre strip tease performance for another sketch – so you know he’s came for anything.

At the Game Of Thrones premiere last week in Belfast, the actor added that after playing the ‘hero’ for nine years, he has no idea where he’s heading next.

‘I’ve played the hero for nine years, and a great, faulted and interesting hero in my mind, but I wanna play someone a bit more messed up,’ he joked.

Game Of Thrones continues Sundays on Sky Atlantic and HBO.
