Warning: Game Of Thrones spoilers coming up.
Despite their characters working together in a plot to murder the Lannister brothers, Game Of Thrones’ Ser Bronn of the Blackwater (Jerome Flynn) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) are never seen together.
Turns out there may be a very real reason the two are kept apart, and one that has nothing to do with dragons or iron thrones.
A source close to the show told The Sun: ‘Lena and Jerome have not filmed together due to a bad break-up.
‘They kept the full extent of it secret but it was a very turbulent relationship and it has been very awkward on set.’
‘Lena has opened up to her trusted friends. She appears to have a genuine hate towards him.’
Metro.co.uk have reached out to representatives of Lena and Jerome for comment.
The former couple have known each other for a long time and first starred opposite each other in 90s ITV drama Soldier, Soldier. Rumours of a romantic connection between the actors surfaced in 2002, though were never officially confirmed.
A year later, when Jerome was confronted with the question, he revealed he ‘couldn’t rule out a relationship’ with his co-star.
Reports claim they broke up in 2014, when season four of Game Of Thrones was on air. It’s thought to have been such a bad breakup that Lena and Jerome don’t speak and refuse to work with one another.
The show itself has come under fire for its final series, with fans dubbing it as ‘rushed’ and written ‘incompetently.
A Change.org petition calling for HBO to remake the final series with new writers has attracted over one million signatures, despite criticism from Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart and Bran Stark himself, actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright.
‘It’s ridiculous that people think they can just demand a different ending because they don’t like it,’ said an irritated Isaac. ‘I have stupidly taken it quite personally, which obviously I shouldn’t. In my opinion, it’s a great ending.’
Game Of Thrones’ final episode airs 9pm, 20 May on Sky Atlantic and will be available on NowTV.
