Game of Thrones star Lena Headey is set to reunite with HBO for new Watergate scandal series The White House Plumbers.
The actress famously starred in the network’s fantasy epic as Cersei Lannister between 2011 and 2019, and is set to take on the role of Dorothy Hunt in the upcoming show.
Headey joins Solo: A Star Wars Story and Venom‘s Woody Harrelson, the Star Wars sequel trilogy’s Domhnall Gleeson and The Leftovers’ (and Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s) Justin Theroux in the five-parter.
The White House Plumbers tells the story of how former US president Richard Nixon’s Watergate masterminds E Howard Hunt (Harrelson) and G Gordon Liddy (Theroux) accidentally brought about the end of his presidency through their efforts to keep him in power.
Headey’s character is E Howard Hunt’s wife, an active CIA asset who tries to hold her family (including their four children) together, while getting caught up in her husband’s misadventures.
Alongside the drama, the actress recently landed another TV role in AMC and Spectrum Originals science fiction thriller series Beacon 23, which will see her play a lonely person trapped in space.
She will also be appearing in new movie thriller Gunpowder Milkshake alongside Karen Gillan, Carla Gugino, Michelle Yeoh and Angela Bassett.

Meanwhile, back in 2019 Headey opened up about Cersei’s death in Game of Thrones, admitting her reaction was initially “mixed”.
“(But) the more we talked about it, the more it seemed like the perfect end for her,” she added. “They came into the world together and now they leave together.
“I think the important thing is that Jaime had a chance at freedom [with Brienne] and finally liberated himself from Cersei. I think the biggest surprise is he came back for her.”
Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming.
