Game Of Thrones’s ending is looming over us like a dark cloud, but actor Liam Cunningham has revealed why he thinks it’s time to say goodbye to Westeros.
The star, who plays Davos Seaworth in the show, has admitted that he thinks the show deserves to keep its ‘cool’ factor – that is, quitting while it was ahead.
Speaking to IGN, Liam said: ‘If you want to stay cool, and the show is cool, the best way to stay cool is to not overstay your welcome. It would be dishonourable to stay on longer than we should.’
‘It was time to get out and wrap up that story… People deserve the end of that story and to not drag it out just because there’s a book to be made. I think it’s very honourable what they’re doing,’ he added.
In the meantime, bosses are giving away nothing as they won’t even tell us when to expect a trailer, much to the fury of fans everywhere who want something to cling on to while we wait for the finale.
We did get some new photos though, which we guess is something, and just from those alone people have come to the conclusion that things are going way south for Cersei Lannister.
Not only do they think she’s not actually pregnant – they also think that brother/lover Jaime is about to defect onto the opposite side and work against her.
Seeing as he’s all she has left, that would prove to be a devastating blow.
Though another theory suggests that Cersei would end up being forced into marriage with Jon Snow, which is possibly the weirdest union we could’ve come up with from this show.
But at least that would save him the shame after discovering his new lover Daenerys Targaryen, is actually is aunt by blood.
Once the show is over, we will also have a prequel to sink our teeth into, though the filming for the new series, starring Naomi Harris, hasn’t started yet.
Game Of Thrones returns 18 April on HBO and Sky Atlantic.
