They may be best friends in real life, but Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams brought us some serious legend vibes to the Game Of Thrones press tour on Tuesday morning.
As we approach the finale of the HBO series, set to land in just a couple weeks now, the on-screen sisters cosied up for an appearance on Good Morning America today in New York City.
The pair were pally as they put their arms around one another and posed on the way into the studio, on the day the bleak AF trailer was released upon us. You’ve got to take the stylish with the grim, we suppose.
As they both gave some serious angles and poses to the waiting fans, Sophie sported a leather top and wide-leg trousers, while Maisie kicked out a pin in a pair of impressive leopard-print boots we sort of have to get our hands on.
Sophie and Maisie, who play boss Stark sisters Sansa and Arya respectively on the show spoke about the ultimate ending. Of course without telling us much.
After Sophie previously told fiancé Joe Jonas about the showdown, she elaborated for us as she said: ‘Some people will be satisfied and others…not so much.’
Great to know. That fresh intel is going to keep us warm tonight…
Meanwhile, earlier this week on the press circuit Maisie trolled us all with the mother of all dragons, we mean April fools’ joke, as she accidentally ‘spoiled’ her death while chatting with Jimmy Fallon.
The actress and the host were discussing the new series and the emotional filming that took place as she prepared to say goodbye to Westeros forever.
However in the midst of the discussion she dropped a massive bombshell when she said she was upset that Arya ‘was killed off in the second episode’, before clapping her hands around her mouth.
She then ran off set before returning to announce it was all an April fools’ joke…or was it?
It was all very dramatic, but not as dramatic as the recent trailer that launched today, which doesn’t fill us with a whole heap of hope for our fair Westeros protagonists.
The trailer itself shows a number of items from specific characters, including Jaime Lannister’s fake hand, Jon Snow’s sword, and a dragonglass arrow.
Naturally, the absence of our heroes and an abandoned Winterfell doesn’t provide much hope and fans are terrified.
And by fans, we mean us. Mostly us. We’re terrified. Hold us.
Game Of Thrones series eight returns 15 April.
