Game Of Thrones’ Maisie Williams has generously donated £50,000 to her local animal shelter amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Arya Stark actress came through after Bristol Animal Rescue Centre put out an urgent appeal due to the challenges they’re facing as a result of Covid-19.

The shelter is set to face financial losses with the centre being closed to the public, fundraising events and activities being cancelled, and loss of income from adoptions.

Filming a sweet video to say thank you, the centre also wrote on Twitter: ‘We want to say a huge thank you to Bristol’s very own @Maisie_Williams, who made an incredibly generous donation to our urgent appeal last Friday.

‘To know that she loves and supports what we do really has made the world of difference to us and the animals we care for.’

The actress, who is set to star in Marvel’s The New Mutants, responded: ‘You are all most welcome, be safe.’

Maisie previously adopted her own dog, Sonny, from the Bristol shelter, with the star urging fans to follow suit and donate.

She wrote: ‘Bristol A.R.C. changes the lives of animals everyday and Sonny, my dog who I adopted from them a few years ago, has changed my life in many ways for the better.

‘It’s so important in these difficult times not to forget about charities like Bristol A.R.C. that need our help.

‘So please make a donation to their appeal if you can. We all need to stick together in these dark times and keep the world spinning regardless.’

She’s not the only Game Of Thrones star helping out during the pandemic, with her on-screen brother, Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark) helping his step-dad to make PPE for the NHS.

The actor shared a snap of himself wearing a mask, as well as placing a visor with his name on it over his face.

‘My step-dad’s printing company @speedscreen_ is currently producing and donating PPE for key health workers,’ he wrote.

‘They have reached their target on JustGiving but please keep an eye on the page as they may need more funds to cover materials as more are needed! Link is in bio.’
