Maisie Williams is set to launch her own app, focusing on helping others forge their own careers – because she’s the nicest person.
The Game Of Thrones star is behind Daisie – a way to link young people in the entertainment industry with those that can help their careers – which is thought to be launching in August 2018,
Speaking about her new launch, the Arya Stark actress revealed one huge difference between her offering, and social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram – as Daisie will not show how many followers you have garnered.
‘In the playground and on social media we have a real popularity contest,’ she explained. ‘With Daisie, the way in which your profile will grow is very different.
‘It’s about a “chain” that you make. To make a chain you work with other people on the app, you create projects together, and then you have a mutual link.
‘The more chains you make, the bigger your profile becomes, so it takes it away from lots of people following one person.’
Opening up on why she has decided to launch the app, Maisie confessed she is hoping to encourage other young women to achieve their biggest potential.
‘I hope to inspire other young women, that you will surprise yourself,’ the 20-year-old added to Sky News. ‘I’ve surprised myself and I hope I continue to with the rest of my life.’
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief, however, as Daisie will not be distracting Maisie from her acting career.
The Bristol-born star is gearing up for the final series of Game Of Thrones, thought to airing next April.
Giving a glimpse into what Throners can expect, she admitted the season will be ‘divisive’.
‘It’s either going to be everything that everyone dreamed of or it’s going to be disappointing,’ she told the Radio Times.
‘It depends what side of the fence you sit on because there’s definitely going to be that divide.
‘It depends what people want from the final season. I love it, but you never know.’
