Maisie Williams has had to do many things in her time on Game Of Thrones.
Stuff any parent would probably blanch at – murder and all-consuming revenge don’t tend to go down well over the dinner table, trust us.
However, the 21-year-old has said that the most awkward thing Thrones has thrown up for her and her parents is sex (and boy is there a load in the show).
In fact, it caused an ‘embarrassing’ moment for her and co-star Sophie Turner early on in their Thrones careers.
Speaking to The Australian about her time on the show, which she finished filming earlier this year, Maisie revealed that her and Sophie’s mothers decided to stop shielding them early on.
That decision came when the two women debated the girls out of a read-through of a scene featuring two girls ‘going at it’.
Apparently that only served to pique their interest, though Maisie admitted: ‘The sex was just quite embarrassing and awkward for us.
‘Most of the gory stuff I was part of, and it’s not scary when you’re there shooting it. No one’s really getting their face ripped off. So it’s quite exciting really.’
Though it seems that the star’s grandmother still finds it hard to watch the show, with Maisie joking: ‘Bless her, my mum just plies her with more and more gin.’
The final and eighth season of the show will draw the curtain on one of the most popular TV series ever, but there’s still a wait until that happens.
The latest news regarding the release date of pegged it to air in the ‘first half’ of 2019.
