Game of Thrones ended two years ago now, and Maisie Williams has very much moved on from her previous role as Arya Stark.

With filming for a new era of Thrones officially under way, Maisie did her bit to put the battles and bloodshed of the Seven Kingdoms behind her at yesterday’s (September 1) GQ Awards.

Stars came out in force to celebrate 2021’s GQ Men of the Year Awards in London last night, including a dramatically different-looking Maisie, who’s ditched her brunette hair and ‘brows for something a little more blonde.

And by ‘blonde’, we really mean ‘bleached’. Daenerys Targaryen, eat your heart out.

Meanwhile, in other Thrones-related news, Maisie was recently forced to deny rumours that she and on-screen sister Sophie Turner were no longer friends, after Maisie appeared to miss Sophie’s wedding to Joe Jonas.

It was previously reported that Maisie would be Sophie’s Maid of Honour at the ceremony, bringing Arya and Sansa Stark back together once again.

Speaking back in July, the fan-favourite Stark reflected on her relationship with her co-star, saying that it was “so amazing” that she and Sophie had each other for support throughout the chaos of the show.

“We got the role at the same time and we grew up on the show together and it was so amazing to have another person who was going through it at the same time because I think I just would have… it would have been too much otherwise,” she admitted.

“Being a teenager is hard, then I was also on this show. I never knew who I was but I’ve come out the other side now. I’m not that different to the girl I was trying to be – but I was having a crisis.”

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming.
