Maisie Williams is a devoted ARMY, and being on perhaps the world’s biggest TV show isn’t going to change that.
The 21-year-old has revealed she once went to the cinema with a Game Of Thrones superfan, just so she had someone to watch BTS’s Burn The Stage with.
Ahead of season eight of Game Of Thrones, the cast were asked by Variety about their best fan encounters – and Maisie’s answer took the biscuit.
The Arya Stark actress said: ‘This one girl came all the way from LA with her mum to London for a week to watch my play and do some other bits, and she was like, “do you want to go and watch the BTS movie?”
‘I was like, “I really want to watch that movie and none of my friend like K-pop so absolutely”. So I went with her and her mum, we watched BTS: Burn The Stage, and it was really really lovely.’
Maisie’s fellow ARMY was called Amelie – shout-out to Amelie and her very cool mum.
We first learned Maisie was a member of the BTS ARMY last year when she fangirled over the IDOL Challenge and revealed on Twitter that Jungkook is her bias.
The actress then took part in the IDOL Challenge herself, absolutely slaying the choreography to the BTS hit, and reached peak ARMY when she attended the band’s sold-out show in London’s O2 Arena last October.
It’s a big weekend for Maisie, then – not only is BTS’s album Map Of The Soul: Persona dropping this Friday, but Game Of Thrones’ final season premieres this Sunday.
Speaking about the epic fantasy series ending, she told Lorraine Kelly: ‘It’s like a really good time in my own life.
‘At 21, nearly 22, everyone my age is leaving uni and trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their life. And I feel like I just graduated the school of acting, now I wanna figure out what I wanna do with the rest of my career.
‘It’s like one chapter ending and a new one opening which is really exciting. But the last chapter was really beautiful and I am gonna miss it.’
Game Of Thrones premieres on HBO and Sky Atlantic on 14 April.
