The Game Of Thrones mobile game might be hiding some clues as to what’s coming up in Gendry’s future.
Gendry might have a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne as the bastard son of the late King Robert Baratheon.
He was sent off on his lonesome for some time, endlessly rowing a boat before suddenly popping up (complete with hammer) in season seven.
So there’s a chance that he still has a role to play in the battle for the Iron Throne, and his inclusion in the mobile game Reigns: GoT seems to support that.
Mashable reports that in the game, Melisandre – looking into the flames to get a glimpse of the future – teases that Gendry has ‘blood of power’ and ‘exceptional skills’. Why reveal that if he wasn’t going to be a main player?
Plus, the game lets you play as one of eight characters and plan their rule over Westeros – Jon, Sansa, Arya, Cersei, Jaime, Gendry, Tyrion and the Three-Eyed Raven – so why have Gendry in the mix if he’s not going to be a main player at some point?
Also his sudden resurfacing in season seven can’t just be for LOLs.
It also ties in to the recent theory that suggests that Gendry could marry either Arya or Sansa Stark to unite the two houses.
A theory posted on Reddit suggests that the most likely outcome could be Robert Baratheon’s son Gendry marrying either Arya or Sansa and ousting Cersei Lannister once and for all.
Meanwhile actor Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry, previously hinted that there’s a big battle in store for his character.
