The last episode of Season 7 of Game of Thrones gives the series a new audience record!

The closer we get to the end, the more Game of Thrones is followed. This season 7, the penultimate of the series, seems to be the season of all records. Each episode beating the last.

While the last episode of season 7 has just aired, the numbers have fallen: the series holds a new record.

The episode “The Dragon and the Wolf” , the longest in the series to date, drew 12.1 million viewers this Sunday. Including replays and streaming, this number even increases to 16.5 million!

A huge jump compared to the last episode of season 6 which attracted 8.9 million curious people.

As a reminder, the final seasons of the first five seasons had reached, respectively: 3 million, 4.2 million, 5.4 million, 7.1 million and 8.1 million viewers.

Game of Thrones Season 8, the latest in the series, will consist of six episodes and is slated to air next year.
