I kind of hate how they did this scene. Not to be a book fanatic but it's better in the books. Edmure's first shot was short, his next shot was wide. Blackfish only offered to shoot, but edmure wanted to try again, desperatly trying to hit the boat. after he misses he sadly gives the bow to his uncle who hit it. Edmure was close to his father, and was greatly saddened by his death. Blackfish told Catelyn that edmure shouldn't be ashamed, and we saw that Blackfish really loves Edmure.

When I watched this for the first time with my sister and my mom, my sister mentioned how, in the books, she was having this beautiful inner monologue about her father.
when he missed the first time she thought "oh well that's okay, it's not that easy" and went on.
When he missed the second time she thought "well he can't miss the THIRD time" and then kept going.
When he missed again she basically just went "SEVEN HELLS-" [guy whose name I can't remember]
