Followers of Games of Thrones will never forget the unanticipated death of the Night King (played by Richard Brake and Vladimir Furdik). The third episode of the final series saw Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) face the Night King together. But fans have taken to Reddit to discuss a different ending.
Xmacct2 said: “Now imagine this: As Bran is having his stare down with the Night King, Bran’s eyes roll to the back of his head, followed by the Night King and all the Other White Walkers under his control.
“Now in comes Arya, seizing the opportunity, but Bran struggles to maintain control and the Night King snaps out of it just in time to catch her by the throat, and then she proceeds to do the drop and stab manoeuvre.
“Not only has Bran already demonstrated the ability to Warg unlike any who have ever lived by Warging into Hodor, but there was a well-established connection between him and the Night King that centred around Warging.
“It explains how Arya is able to get by all the other White Walkers and makes Bran a badass instead of someone who does nothing and for some reason is crowned king.”
Other fans have said the main characters should have used pack tactics to defeat the Night King.
LennoxMacduff94 said: “Jon (Kit Harrington) and Theon (Alfie Allen) engage him head on, while Arya gets in position for a sneak attack, Bran does a magic/mental attack that distracts him, etc.
“Since the whole Stark thing is that they’re stronger as a pack than they are as lone wolves, the fight against the Night King should have been the chance to show that.”
Director Miguel Sapochnik has spoken out about the iconic death scene.
The scene did not go down well with everybody as they were not expecting the Night King to die so early on.
Trafridodreddit praised the idea Jon and Theon should work together.
They said on Reddit: “I actually really like that idea. I’ve always wished they at least had Jon and Theon fight him together, and maybe at some point Theon gets killed.
“And then Jon is close to getting taken out, but gives Arya an opening and she exploits it.
