In a statement provided to Deadline, HBO thanked the cast and crew for all their hard work after the show had already filmed its first pilot before the rumours of cancellation circulated.

“After careful consideration, we have decided not to move forward to series with the Untitled Game of Thrones prequel,” HBO stated.

“We thank Jane Goldman, S.J. Clarkson, and the talented cast and crew for all of their hard work and dedication.”
