Game of Thrones has had a magnificent cast over the years, and some of the cast members for whom the series was their first big break, have since gotten opportunities to join some pretty big projects. One of such cast members is Oona Chaplin, who you might remember as Talisa Maegyr, the nurse with whom Robb Stark (Richard Madden) hopelessly falls in love. What many fans might not know is that Oona is related to the legendary silent film actor Charlie Chaplin, and she is going to star in possibly one of the biggest film projects ever – James Cameron’s Avatar 3.

According to a recent report by Empire magazine, Oona has been cast in the role of Varang, the leader of the Ash People, described as “an aggressive, volcanic race of people”, who will be a significant part of the story of the upcoming Avatar sequel. These Na’vi will be different from the original film’s and The Way of Water’s Na’vi, not just because of their ‘elements’ as it were, but also because they will be playing the antagonists in the film.
