aHBO Max, Warner Mediaâs streaming service, launches in May. At $14.99 a month, itâs priced a bit above competitors like Netflix and Disney+. Will the extra money be worth it? Take a look at the new trailer and decide for yourself:
Friends, Game of Thrones, Joker, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, classics like Casablanca and The Wizard of OzâŠand thatâs just the tip of the iceberg. HBO Max definitely has some stuff to recommend it; I just worry if itâs enough to overcome that price, and to move people to try yet another streaming service when there are already so many out there.
WarnerMedia previewed a bunch of whatâs available on HBO Max through some Valentineâs Day Twitter poetry. Whatever it takes to stand out:
HBO Max has plenty of original series on tap, too, including one set in the Dune universe, a Gossip Girl sequel, and plenty more. And if youâre wondering, so far as I can tell, HBO Max is not a replacement for HBO Go or HBO Now, which could get confusing. Good luck.
As long as weâre talking about trailers, check out the latest for teaser for Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, starring Game of Thrones veteran Natalie Dormer as the intense demoness Magda:
Margaeryâs not messing around. Penny Dreadful: City of Angels comes out on Showtime on Sunday, April 26.
