Game of Thrones may not have ended on a positive note. But, we still loved the actors and the job that they did. Well now, we’ll be seeing them in action on television once again. And they’ll be joined by a Peaky Blinders star as well!
Game of Thrones stars teaming up with Peaky Blinders actor!
English actor Joe Cole, who plays the role of John Shelby in Peaky Blinders, will be starring alongside Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Against The Ice. Furthermore, Game of Thrones star and fellow English actor Charles Dance will also be joining them in the movie. As we all know, Dance played the iconic role of Tywin Lannister in the HBO Original series.
Against The Ice is set in 1909 and follows the lead character Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Coster-Waldau) on a historic mission. His mission is to disprove a theory that Greenland is divided into two different pieces of land. Mikkelsen is accompanied by an inexperienced crew member Iver Iversen (Cole) as the two leave the ship behind and sled across the ice to complete the mission by themselves. But, their return to the ship takes a lot longer than they expected. And on their return, they learn that the remaining crew had abandoned the camp. And so, their adventure and fight for survival will continue.
While talking to Deadline, Coster-Waldau said:
Against The Ice has been a passion project for me from the very beginning. It combines a lot of themes that excite me: adventure, Greenland, companionship, loyalty and love. It is an intense exploration of two men, two opposites, trapped in an epic dangerous setting.
Furthermore, apart from the Peaky Blinders and Game of Thrones stars, Peter Flinth will be directing the film. And Everest director Baltasar Kormákur will be a part of the production team too. Much to everyone’s pleasure, Against The Ice has already wrapped filming, so expect it to land on Netflix without any delays!
