Pedro Pascal has revealed how he’s incredibly keen on the idea of a Game Of Thrones spin-off centred around Oberyn Martell, having even called up show creators to get plans in motion.

The 42-year-old actor played Oberyn aka the Red Viper of Dorne on the show until his head-crushing death in season four, but with plans of numerous Game Of Thrones spin-offs in the works, there’s been hope one could see Pascal reprise the role in a potential prequel.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk in a roundtable interview, Pascal revealed how the news excited him too, saying: ‘I actually saw they were going to be doing some spin-offs of Game Of Thrones, and I wrote to the creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, right away.

‘I was like, “Hey, so what’s up with the Oberyn spin-off? What’s up with the Oberyn prequel, come on?” And they didn’t’ write back immediately and I was like, “Alright, don’t worry about it. My back couldn’t do it anyway.”’

The creators however shut down his hopes after confirming they wouldn’t be involved in the spin-offs, but Pascal did offer some hope on the matter.

‘Their [David and Dan’s] favourite idea is that [Oberyn]. David and Dan are not part of the development of those other shows, so it wouldn’t be up to them.

‘But I would do anything to be Oberyn again,’ Pascal added.

The actor is currently set to appear in the third season of Narcos, which will see Javier Pena tackle the threat of the Cali cartel in the wake of Pablo Escobar’s death.

You can catch Narcos season three streaming on Netflix September 1st.
