Game of Thrones came to an end last year and brought the epic journey of the HBO show to an end. While fans of the franchise will not get any more stories from Westeros for some time, with spin-off House of the Dragon still yet to receive a release date, several have been rewatching all eight seasons of the George RR Martin-created drama.
Since the show’s end, fans have been rewatching some classic episodes to relive the excitement of its first release.
But they have now begun pointing out some plot holes from said episodes, one of which has frustrated some viewers quite a lot.
Game of Thrones fans will remember Joffrey Baratheon (played by Jack Gleeson) being killed off back in season four after a life of being a tyrant.
The episode featured his wedding, which saw him dying at the hands of an unknown assailant who poisoned his cup.

While it was originally pointed out that Sansa Stark’s (Sophie Turner) necklace was to blame for this murder, Reddit user beejinator recently pointed out a glaring issue this show detail.
They wrote: “The widely accepted theory is that Sansa’s necklace had a poisoned crystal, which Olenna Tyrell sneakily took off while she was talking to Sansa in the scene before Joffrey dies.
“You can look back at the scene or watch YouTube videos that show her necklace missing a crystal (should be 6 crystals in total) as Olenna is finished talking with her.
“I was completely fine with this theory, until: In the NEXT EPISODE, Sansa goes with Dantos to Petyr Baelish on a ship, where Baelish takes off her necklace and crunches one of the crystals with his sword to show her that it was fake.”
They went on to point out the necklace miraculously regrew a crystal between episodes, bringing an odd plot hole to the surface of the show.
Going to point out the major flaw, they added: “When they show the close up of him crunching it, THERE ARE NOW 6 CRYSTALS ON THE NECKLACE!”
Of course, the crystal’s return doesn’t make sense, as one was missing from the necklace during Joffrey’s wedding, in order to poison him.
“The one he crunches is the one that Olenna supposedly took off to poison Joffrey,” the fan continued. “This is the point where I started losing my mind, because it seems that nobody on the entire internet has caught this. WTF?”

Thankfully, fan beejinator has some explanations for this unbelievable return of the crystal, as they wrote: “Either: A) The show creators somehow missed this giant detail in the Baelish crunching necklace scene.
“Or B) The necklace didn’t have any poison at all, and the one Sansa wore in the scene talking to Olenna just happened to be missing a crystal and nobody on set cared to fix that detail. It can’t be both. If it’s the latter, then did Olenna just slip poison into the cup herself without help from Sansa’s necklace? If so, why the whole necklace storyline in the first place?”
Many seasons later, Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) revealed she was the one who poisoned Joffrey – so this necklace theory is very likely.
Unfortunately, fans will probably not get any answers regarding the necklace and its crystal, nor how they kept growing back after being removed.
