Miranda Richardson has revealed how she’s preparing to start filming on the upcoming Game Of Thrones prequel, provisionally titled Bloodmoon.

The 61-year-old actress is set to star in the first spin-off from Game Of Thrones, in what’s believed to be a series regular role alongside Naomi Watts, Naomi Ackle and Josh Whitehouse.

While it was claimed earlier this month filming on the show had already begun, it seems Miranda’s scenes are officially yet to kick off, teasing to Metro.co.uk how she’s jetting off to Belfast in Ireland.

‘I’m about to go to Ireland and film the Game Of Thrones prequel,’ Miranda said. ‘I’m very happy about that.’

Refusing to offer any more details, she joked: ‘I’m the human clam, that’s what they know me as.’

Surprisingly, Miranda also stated she hasn’t met with the show’s co-writer and Game Of Thrones overlord George RR Martin in advance – so could he finally be working away on the new book Winds Of Winter?

Bloodmoon is penned by screenwriter Jane Goldman and Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin, and takes place thousands of years before the main show’s events.

An official synopsis reads: ‘Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game Of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age Of Heroes into its darkest hour.

‘And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.’

The cast has become increasingly impressive too, with John Simm, Richard McCabe and more now on the line-up in unspecified roles.

Miranda will be seen next in the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s Good Omens, where she plays Madame Tracy.

Game Of Thrones Bloodmoon is scheduled to be released in 2020.
