Filming on the Game Of Thrones spin-off prequel is well underway, with new behind-the-scenes photos revealing the addition of a crew member from the original show.
The upcoming prequel, provisionally titled Bloodmoon, will be set thousands of years prior to the events of Game Of Thrones, but will still feature familiar elements like Starks, White Walkers and direwolves as confirmed by George RR Martin.
Filming kicked off on the pilot last month in Belfast, and photos have begun to emerge featuring a face you might recognise.

Numerous photos have also emerged from Titanic Studios in Belfast, showing new lighting equipment and the presence of an orange mammoth sign outside on a public road indicating filming is underway.
One photo also shows the inside of the Paint Hall at the studios, where some kind of stone arch can be seen inside – although it’s unclear if relates to filming on Bloodmoon.

A very low Res photo, lifted from Insta. Appears to be from late yesterday evening, & with the light on within the Studio building it shows some structure with an arched stone opening. Another GoT Bloodmoon prequel structure? pic.twitter.com/4qm5uRRMrL

Miranda Richardson confirmed to Metro.co.uk she was heading off to film the prequel in June, which will also star Naomi Watts, John Simm, and more.
Bloodmoon is penned by screenwriter Jane Goldman and George RR Martin, with an official synopsis reading: ‘Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game Of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age Of Heroes into its darkest hour.
‘And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.’
The Game Of Thrones prequel is scheduled to be released in 2020.
