HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is looking to launch sometime in 2022. Deadline spoke with HBO president Casey Bloys who confirmed that they’re targeting the year as a release window for the series.
The series was announced in 2019 after the conclusion of the main series. Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condol, the series takes place 300 years before the events of the series and chronicles the rise and the downfall of the Targaryens. It is using the Martin’s Fire & Blood companion book to the series as a source for the series.
