Game of Thrones is a visually magnificent and breathtaking world. Which is why bringing such a world to life is no easy task, and we have the series’ creative team to thank for such an impossible feat. If you’ve ever wondered what goes into making places like King’s Landing and Winterfell a reality on the screen, you’ll now have an opportunity to have all your questions answered, thanks to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Back in season four, production designer Gemma Jackson was replaced by Deborah Riley who has been responsible for everything we’ve seen since then. And what an incredible job she has done, right? Without the worldbuilding in Game of Thrones the show is simply not what it is, and now, Riley will be heading to the Ripley Center at the Smithsonian in D.C. to talk about how she and her team make it all happen. Joining her will be Game of Thrones executive producer Bernadette Caulfield to add to the thrilling conversation.

According to the official Smithsonian website, the event will take place on April 1, at 6:45 P.M. and a reception will be held afterward where attendees can chug down some Game of Thrones beer from the Ommegang Brewery. A museum exhibit and beer? Where do we sign up? Here, you can sign up here.

Riley’s contribution to the show has been a pivotal one and her work reflects on a number of historical periods, traditions, and styles from all over the world. Using these subtle nuances against the backdrop of the series is how she imagines this beautiful, detailed world we all love and adore. And honestly, we can’t wait to see what she has in store for fans for the upcoming eighth and final season.
