Just to clear things up a bit… White Walkers are the scary creatures that often ride on dead horses, and the dead people in their thrall in the books were called "wights." In the show I don't recall they ever used the term "wight" but called them as a group the army of the dead, or just called them both White Walkers. White Walkers are scary creature things and wights are people who were once dead but somehow "zombiefied" (for lack of a better term) and once resurrected become in thrall to the White Walkers. White Walkers and wights are two rather different things. Both White Walkers and wights have distinctive bright blue eyes (as for the wights if they had any eyes when resurrected).
