  1. Yes. This show, in itself, makes you feel like you're on an emotional roller coaster ride. In fact, those were my exact words when I first watched it too. I understand that the villains deserve karma's repayment, but when something so terrible happens to them you can't help but feel the humanity within you empathizing with them, getting caught up in the moment.

Ygritte was a murderer of innocent people and yet I felt sad for Jon when she died in his arms. To top it off, it was Ollie that did it so you can't be mad at him. She put an arrow through his dad's head, and he wanted to protect Jon. You see? Roller coaster ride.

  2. Thanks, Jay!!!! Hope you have a great Happy New Year!!! Great reaction and you really did a great job. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Best GoT current reactor going!!!!

  3. I haven't read the comments yet so I might be late to the party on this, but in real life the actors that play Ygritte and Jon Snow (Rose Leslie and Kit Harrington) fell in love during filming and more recently got engaged. Apparently for several years they had to hide their relationship in public and fib about it in interviews. I didn't want to mention that until after Ygritte's demise in case it altered your opinions of the characters.

  4. Great reaction, again, Jay. You emote your feelings so well – we all feel it again, because we see it thru your emotional eyes. Love it! Hau'oli Makahiki Hou! See you in 2018. Aloha! 😊❤️ Cheers!.. to you and yours. 🥂

  5. *TL;dr: provided at end

Happy holidays and thank you for the after-Christmas gift of a new reaction video.
    Fantastic reaction, just fantastic.
Now I remember why I blocked this one out of memory. It felt too much like civil war, seeing as, through Jon's eyes and through several episodes, we'd gotten to know some of the people that are the "Wildlings," the enemy savages beyond the Wall. We realized they were real people, with good in them, that seemed to be faring as well as could be expected amid the harshness of the seasons, the hatred of their same species south of the Wall, and the horrors of winter against the encroaching army of the dead, which they knew was all too real. Their ways were more primitive, harsher and more barbaric. Their brutal fight for survival had required more aggressive, abject ruthlessness in war strategy and combat than the more "civilized" Westerosi. It was so tragic – we knew every soul that perished diminished the whole in strength and spirit, but all had to keep fighting and do what it took to win, and their shared nature of determination and belief that defeat all but ensured an end to their side's way of life and future survival resulted in neither backing down. They knew they had to maximize strikes in order to minimize casualties, and there were people we'd personally gotten to know on the Wildlings side, with genuine feelings and empathy, so the internal conflict was a carefully crafted heart wrenching.
Now, after reexperiencing it through your reaction, I know why when I tried to recall this episode I only remembered it was the one where Ygritte dies in Jon's arms. Then I'd start remembering the time in the cave, the kiss on top of the Wall, when Ygritte was marching around imitating soldiers training and laughing, her wonder seeing the North (and a windmill she thought was a castle) for the first time… and then I'd wipe away tears and think about something else. When this episode was discussed, people were talking about losses on both sides and the overall results with nearly equal sadness. It was just, in so many ways, too real.

TL;Dr: Forgot why I'd blocked this one out of my mind until this video and very sincere reaction reminded me it was like a tragic civil war where we felt every unfortunate, necessary loss.

  6. Brilliant reaction and great editing!  This episode toys with all your emotions for sure. I mean Ygritte's death was sad but then she did kill Ollie's dad with an arrow through the skull and he's just a kid and I just didn't know how to feel at the time.
