It’s time for another episode of Take the Black Live, the show where we discuss the latest and greatest news from the world of fantasy and sci-fi entertainment, with special attention paid to our delightful and deadly friends in Westeros.

This week, obviously, we’re talking about the Emmys! Game of Thrones did…good. I mean, it won the top award of the night, plus a win for Peter Dinklage for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama, plus 10 other statues at the Creative Arts Emmys. So why does the show’s victory lap feel a little muted? We get into it.

The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and Google Play! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.

In other news, we decide to throw caution to the wind and dip our toes into the brackish waters of online political discourse to discuss the controversy surrounding the movie Joker, an origin story for the Clown Prince of Crime. Please don’t pillory us in the virtual town square.

We engage in scintillating conversation live every Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. CST on our Facebook page. Drop by and join the discussion!
