  1. Catelyn didn't actually hate Mya Stone as I understood it. The book said Mya's being a bastard reminded Catelyn of Jon Snow, so it put her in a bad mood. She was still cordial to Mya.

  2. I like how generally positive and optimistic you are when discussing the differences between the books and show, while being critical when needed. So many asoiaf and got channels nowadays are needlessly angry.

  3. Yeah…I dont know Whats the Dom issue with steps mams but its clouding his judjement. Cat was wary of Mya because she was a bastard, but in her internal monologue she thinks highly of the girl.
And Tyrek is sooo obviously alive…Varys probably has him

  4. We have no idea if Tyrek was actually killed or not: a popular fan theory is that Varys will set him up as a puppet ruler in Casterly Rock. Also he was Tygett's son, not Kevan's. Martyn Lannister is still alive in the books, and Willem was killed by Rickard Karstark. Which makes the theory make more sense: it's easier to manipulate the son of a third son who never had a snowball's chance in hell at becoming the Lord of Casterly Rock to do what you want, especially if you convince him that Cersei will have him killed for what he knows about Robert's death.

You really have no interest in providing a faithful analysis of what GRRM was trying to achieve: with Catelyn or Tyrion, for two glaring examples. Your biased presentation of the story is a major weakness in these videos.

  5. I blame you for starting this series. I like watching your stuff, even if I don't know or have access to the things you discuss. But this one I did, because the parents are fanatics. So I started watching it with my dad, chief-fanatic. Just finished season two tonight (at the time of this posting).

  6. The lack of Blackfish in the earlier seasons was actually one of my main complaints when originally watching them.

That seems hilarious now considering it's minor compared to what they did later.

  7. I can't bring it up to hate Catelyn or even Cercei because it always has been implied to me by the books that both women come from very traditionalist families with very overbearing fathers who had one and only one view of women and raised their daughters with a very limited education and set of values. Catelyn and Lysa were raised to basically be honor bound baby farms so Catelyn sees everything outside of that world view negatively. Bastards are dishonorable so she hates bastards. End of story. Lysa was unable to bear healthy children and basically went nuts over it. Catelyn, Lysa, Cercei come into power by accident or by poor design but don't have a clue what to do with it because they were never given the kind of education and mentoring that would help them. so they stumble from one stupidity to the next, always acting on intuition or a hunch, easily manipulated by others and always in the belief that they are doing their best. Compare this to Margaery who was tutored by Queen of Thorns and knows what she is doing. this is what a good education gets you. So i can never really hate Catelyn. I understand her choices even if they are poor and ill thought out.

  8. Your bad as Trump infecting everything with politics! Please leave Game of Thrones out of it. There is a such thing as escapism and there is no need to cheapen your video with references to politics.

  9. Ned was an honorble fool. They should have killed Dany based on their info,Robert was right. There I said it.Varys supporting Dany's assainatintion makes since. He as being a former member of Aery's small council can't afford to show any love toward the Targaryians else he'd lose his head.Besides, book Aerys was ultimately interested in Aegon being King.He probably didn't even think Dany would survive Drogo.
