Game of Thrones viewers saw a number of marriages throughout the eight seasons, including that of Sansa Stark (played by Sophie Turner) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).
While the pair were forced together as a cruel joke by Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance), they did eventually find some common ground in the final season.
Fans of the franchise have been diving through the books to look for hidden meanings in the story’s many relationships – and some parallels have been discovered between Tyrion and Sansa.
Although worlds apart for some seasons, the couple experienced a lot of similarities in their story, as pointed out by Reddit user QueenSalsaFan.
First and foremost, they both, separately, dreamed about having a golden-haired son, which viewers will know is the trademark aspect of the Lannisters.
Sansa said in the first book: “’I’ll give him a son with golden hair, and one day he’ll be the king of all the realm, the greatest king that ever was, as brave as the wolf and as proud as the lion.’”
Tyrion similarly dreamed of a boy, also saying in an early book: “‘One day I may take a wife and sire a son. If the gods are good, he’ll look like his uncle and think like his father.”
The duo were also both kissed by people younger than them who had inexplicable crushes; for Tyrion, it was Penny, a dwarf who falls for the Lannister royal.
Meanwhile for Sansa she was challenged with the romance of Robin Arryn (Lino Facioli), who was enamoured by his cousin.
Sansa and Tyrion were also in possession of poison at one stage or another, as one passage from the books sees Tyrion finding a patch of poison mushrooms and collecting them for later use.
Meanwhile Sansa was infamously given the silver hairnet emblazoned with a number of amethysts – which were, unbeknownst to her, the poison “strangler”, the substance used to kill Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson).

Fans of the characters were convinced they would have some sort of romantic reunion in the final season – and although they did reunite, it was more amicable than romantic.
This has led viewers to become a little hopeful that the pair may eventually get together now the story has been finished.
One viewer wrote: “I have started to legitimately think that, in the books, they might just find their way back to each other and stay married.”
While another agreed: “Same. I was listening to their chapters and find many hints in their stories that they will end up together.”
Now that peace has been restored to Westeros, and the duo have matured a lot throughout the show, their coupling up is certainly possible.
With Sansa as Queen of the North, and Tyrion as Hand of the King to Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), the duo will certainly be working together a lot.
This may put them in a situation whereby they are drawn together quite a lot, perhaps even sparking a romance.
This weekend actors from Game of Thrones attended Hall H in San Diego Comic Con to discuss the final season.
Grey Worm star Jacob Anderson spoke about whether his character wanted to kill Jon Snow (Kit Harington) after murdering Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
He explained: “It’s a good question. I think that in my head there came a point with Grey Worm toward the end where it became like, ‘Enough is enough.’
“I think that’s a big reason why he left. It was like everyone who was ever dear to him was dead now. And he’d only just learned how to have people be dear to him.
“So I think he was just like, ‘This is a violent place, and this isn’t what I want my existence to be anymore.’”
