I hate Ser Barristan. He's a coward who ignored his King's orders and watched the Protector of the Realm die.

Ser Barristan Selmy aka Barristan the Bold, was know so for his boldness in saving the King Areys when he was captured and locked in the Dun Fort when he was visiting Duskendale.
The hand of the king Tywin lannisters with his army at the gates couldn't do much without putting the king's life at risk was just reduced to threatening them that they will destroy thier house and played Rains of Castemere at their gates.

Barristan Selmy went climbed the castle walls in the middle of the night found the king and fought back out with the king.
And hence we made Kingsgaurd. And was forever to be considered one of the best swordsmen in the seven kingdoms.

This. This is a fucking scene.

Seriously how many best swordsman are there in the Kingsguard. I mean we had Dayne, and Selmy and then we have Jaime. Seems like everyone in there is a best swordsman that ever lived.

Still my favorite season!

This 50 second clip is better than all of season 5

Miss these scenes, just dialogue and that great looking Kingsguard armour. The Blackwater episode changed everything for me, the series went from just a medieval soap drama to something different. But now i miss the slower pacing and the character development.

2. I am happy that someone as boss as Barristan will hopefully ensure that Dany won't kill remaining Starks when she comes if this shows his respect for Ned

Would you bastards stop arguing about race? Westeros is basically Europe in the middle ages, not a fuckin UN convention! There will be quite a shortage of dark skinned people there. Dorne has plenty of swarthy peoples! And I saw alot of black women dancing for the Dothraki in the first episode.

OMG! I love this show but I thought Sparticus was Graphic–(spoiler alert) acting or no I didn't need to see that boy nursing! The book is so close to the screen play that it's scary. I'm loving both but if a child can talk crap, then that child can use a cup!
