  1. Hey, this might seem slightly unrelated but what dvds are you using to watch the series? Because I'm considering buying the 1-6 boxset (regular dvd format, not Blu-ray) but I've heard people say the quality isn't great. Thoughts?

  2. Sansa was surprised by the Hound in her room, but did Anna catch why Sansa went to her room? She went to get that doll Ned gave her, the one she disdained when her father originally gave it to her. It’s such a sweet little detail (one of many in this episode) but most people never seem to notice.

  3. It's funny the way that Anna talks about "Joffrey just being Joffrey." I read an article online that said that new baby names like "Arya," "Sansa," "Eddard" and even "Stannis" have spiked in popularity since Game of Thrones premiered on HBO. I don't think that anyone will ever name their kid "Joffrey."

  4. YES! One of my favorite GoT episodes! I honestly was not sure Anna would find it as interesting given it's (as you guys said) basically one great big battle, even though it does have TONS of personal interactions throughout. Absolutely love Tyrion's speach and the fact he held his own for a bit even without extensive formal training. Loved the Hound telling Jeoffrey off and abandoning him even though it means he essentially tucked tail and betrayed the rest. Loved seeing Jeoffrey's true colors displayed so clearly and getting more of how Cersi's mind works. It is indeed twisted. Loved seeing Davos and Stannis's valor on full display. Loved seeing Tywin enter like a boss even though he would not be able to save the day if not for Tyrion's prior actions. Love that rendition of Rains of Castamere at the end. Was very pleasantly surprised to see she thoroughly enjoyed it just like most of us. 🙂

    Questions for Anna:

What did you feel seeing the tension between Bronn and the Hound, prior to the bell? Bronn had his kukri ready for a surprise quickdraw while appearing dead calm. Do you think that kind of attack would work against the Hound? Why?

From Sansa's viewpoint the Hound has terrible reputation based on past deeds but he has not shown any inclination of violence toward her directly and has even protected her on occasion. Was Sansa's decision not to escape KL with the Hound a smart one? Why?

Tyrion did more than anyone to hold KL prior to Tywin getting there. Why does no one give him credit afterwards? What would you do/feel like in his position?

  5. My greatest disappointment with this episode is that teasing of a 'Romeo & Juliet'-like poisoning. That would have been beautiful and my hatred for the Lannisters wasn't even at its peak back then.
