  1. to be honest his black facial hair and ect. makes me think he could just be neds father in a flash back . but after you saying the mad king. im really hoping he does play the mad king . he would be perfect ive seen him it that show. he would make a good mad king . but then they'd have to give him white hair and all that. I hope he is the mad king

  2. If I'm honest, I'm not seeing McShane as the Mad King… I mean, McShane, even at the worst of times in terms of appearances is still a rather heavyset guy, and firmly built, whereas the mad king is this thin, pale, gaunt creature. I think him playing Rickard Stark is a good bet. I think he has a good face to play a Northerner; heavyset with dour eyes.

  3. cersei needs to die by a back/belly stab, there are some theories that history might repeat itself, and that cersei will set the city ablaze with wildfire because she's becomming pretty mad bc of her time in the dungeon, just as the mad king

  4. Ian Mcshane said that he would be bringing someone back that you thought you would never see again. Heres my theory (This had better be how it turns out. Im also only on season 4 so im sorry if I say something that doesnt make sense). Ians character, whoever he may play, somehow brings Robb back, and him, Jon, Sansa, Bran, and Arya meet up again and they rally up the norths supporters and one of them says "Were taking back the North." They all march on Winterfell and take it from the asshole Boltons, capture Roose and his son, and the episode ends with the camera slowly moving away from Winterfell playing the Stark theme :D. One way or another, I think season 6 is going to be the time for the Starks revenge.

  5. Well he's not Euron Greyjoy and he's not Randyll Tarley so there's the Mad King and there's Howland Reed…. He has the look for Howland I think but the problem would be age since he'd almost certainly be appearing in the Tower of Joy flashbacks which in the show would've been like 20 years ago but I think they could pass it off if they fill in any white hairs in his hair and beard and de age him using makeup, and then there's the Mad King, obviously they'd need to dye his hair to match the Targaryen pale hair but I think he'd be an amazing choice for the role however I strongly believe he'll be the Elder Brother on the Quiet Isle, it fits with the minor role part and McShane said in an interview he's responsible for bringing a character back, hello Gravedigger theory, however I don't know how this role would be hugely important but regardless I believe him to be the Elder Brother

  6. RANDAL TARLY!!!! It has to be him.
No more perfect casting could be imagined. An aging warlord with a heart so cold to send his son to the wall under threat of murder, and still be somewhat likable. (or at least watchable)
It would also be considered a "Small but important" part in the vast and complicated plot.

  7. It's obvious. He's playing a priest who is helping The Hound hide out with the bounty Tywin put on his head. He's said he was only appearing in one episode, where he's responsible for "bringing back" a character viewers thought would never see again. Which at this point can only be The Hound. He's the biggest "MIA" character. Bigger than Benjen Stark.

  8. Ian Mcshane is the most amazing actor in the world! I don't care who he plays or what he does because he's going to be amazing! It's hinted in the book via the prophecy that the one who will kill Cersei strangles her. If it ends up being Jaime then more power to him. I always hated Cersei and I don't care how she croaks as long as she dies.

  9. I think he would strangle her with his golden hand… I'm sure it says somewhere he clutched onto her with his right hand when they came out the womb- now it's been cut off and replaced with gold, so that would be a cool metaphor

  10. I have kinda a few theories of who he might be one he could be one of the kings guard guarding Lyanna at the tower of joy I don't really know a lot about that to be honest but still would be minor and not unimportant. But for me more logical would be in one of Brans visions where he would witness Lyanna and Rhaegars wedding he could be an important part of that . Also but i highly doubt it he could be the Elder in the gravedigger story although i gotta say i really don't believe that.

  11. i hope Ian McShane plays Manderly. I could totally see him being a calculated person in joint revolt against the Boltons and being the economic of the North and helping them win the long-term war. idk.

  12. BIG problem with the idea of him being Howland Reed. He's WAY too big. Howland is supposed to be really small. Now that I'm typing it, it doesn't seem very big, but I don't doubt that Howland Reed will both be in the season and played by someone smaller.

  13. People keep saying Howland and Aerys…. but what about Marwyn? A disgraced maester who schools Sam in the magical arts so that he can quickly learn the most important field required for the upcoming war of the dawn. Sam always wanted to be a wizard, after all…
