  1. I think Cersei's costumes prove she is NOT pregnant but something else…

A theory based on her costumes: Cersei is no longer wearing armor over her dresses particularly her neck. I think what she and Qyburn are really up to is making her immortal like the mountain.

  2. Jorah's cape reminds me a bit of the Maesters' robes from Oldtown; perhaps a clothier from there would have used leftover fabric from what he had on hand for the Maesters' garments to whip up some stuff for the recently-cured Ser Jorah before that Mormont left to rejoin Dany?
(Speaking of Jon Snow's heavy black cape, I spotted a cosplay "Jon Snow" at GenCon Indy this week, with a wee "child of the forest" (presumably the cosplayer's son or daughter) perched on his shoulders. Wish I'd thought to snap a pic, but my family & I were on our way to lunch (at the nearby mall food court), and I was exhausted from all the walking I'd been doing at the con.)

  3. I also thought that the pattern on Sansa's dress looked like the Bolton symbol! Really wish that Dany didn't look so perfect and clean all the time, I know she needs to look good and royal but I miss her looking more rustic and dirty. I hate how her hair is always perfectly curled and braided. I do like the new dresses for her and that she is finally wearing the Targaryen colors, but I'd like to see more variety of shape for the outfits other than the same dresses with different fabrics for her, Sansa and Cersei as well. Where is Sansa's gorgeous velvet gown from Battle of the Bastards with the direwolf embroidery? What a waste of a gown if we only get to see it that one season. Loved Jorah's new look, but it didn't last long either unfortunately. Love the vid as usual! 😀

  4. Hi Costume Co, Wow I just discovered your channel! I love it. Do you have a video about Brienne of Tarth costumes? What a unique and refreshing GOT experience. New subscriber ☺

  5. I think the square motif on Arya is reflective of the House of the Faceless Men. Arya learned a lot in Braavos, and her time there arguably shaped her the most. The doors of the House have black and white squares, look at when Arya, is at the door, you'll see.

Also, no love for Davos?!? He's my personal favorite character (he always tries to do the right thing, and he's so nice and lovable) so I'm a bit biased. But, I really loved his costuming in the past two episodes with the lighting, Davos adds a bit of colour to the costumes, he has a green surcoat that is very easy to see in episode 4 where he goes to see Missandei (and he talks about how lovely Narth is and the conversation is so sweet) also, the nice deep blue cloak he wears this past episode really adds a bit of color and depth to the outfit.

Also, Jorah's return was much appreciated.

  6. They were Wlildling pants because they are worn by something north of the wall. The legs are column-like enough to be for Giants. Look at the guy in the background on the left. We know from episode 1 "Dragonstone" that there are at least 3 (and probably more) Wight giants in the Army of the Dead. Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun was bad-ass by himself; 3 at once? …That's not terrifying at all……..

  7. hi thank you for your excellent as always review of the costumes on GOT, thanks for pointing out all the detail of Jorah's costume, I'm going to watch the episode again with that in mind.    I also really love Arya's costume this last episode, the top upper stitching across the right chest I'm just in love with.

  8. This is my favorite of Sanaa's dresses this season. I especially like how the pattern is reminiscent of the Bolton sigil when seen in a wide shot. It may be a coincidence but I can't help but see little flayed men in the elongated diamond/X pattern.

  9. Dear Fashion World,
I want to dress like a Stark this winter. I'm cold and I want to look cool and be able to move, like Arya.

Fashion World: Do you mean miniskirts and tights?

    Sigh

  10. Ayra's knitted cape! I've been looking out for knitting to appear in the costumes! I've always been surprised there has never been any before, especially in the colder regions. Or did I miss it?

  11. The graphic you employ to indicate the number countdowns on Game of Thrones always reminds me of Xena's signature weapon, the chakram. I know that Raimi's cult classic "Xena: Warrior Princess" was predominately camp, and the costumes were merely an eclectic mix of historically inaccurate, ancient(ish) clothing, but I'd love to see a breakdown of those garments. Just a thought…

  12. Besides liking pretty things, I was never particularly interested in outfits and materials, and now here I am, listening to hours of content just about this 🙂 I wonder if it's connected to your professional work, or just a hobby you're really invested in? Can you recommend some books for non-professionals about the topic to read for fun? Cheers and keep the good work!

  13. Really cool to find out how they get their furs. I LOVE fur… the real stuff. But I don't want to support the fur trade. I only have one fur garment: a vintage rabbit-fur coat from the 1940s. I'm glad that they stuck to faux and vintage too. Those are some high quality faux furs! I can't pick apart the faux from the real in the show. Honestly I figured they used all real furs. That fox faux fur you found was outstanding!! I want to be able to run my hand along it to see if it feels as real as it looks!!

  14. I blinked, and there is a new channel name! Or did I subscribe to something else.. No, I recognize those dulcet tones. I was trying to pronounce Cinomatopographa, no that's wrong, Costumographicum, nope again – shivers – I told my friend about this wonderful channel.I think she'll find it more readily now. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for all of your work.

  15. Tyrions studded top was giving me Cersei vibes. I think it is really interesting that Cersei has toned down her colorful flamboyance in her clothing style and so has Tyrion. They are such different characters and always at odds with eachother, but they are actually doing similar things with their clothing choices. And their collars were similar this episode as well.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about Gendrys outfits and hammer.

I have to say I am really missing color this season. I think I need to rewatch the show from the beginning so I can enjoy the colorful costumes again.

  16. Regarding those wilding/ white's pants- it reminded me strongly of the ancient way of heating up the garments (even undergarments at times) by the Slavic people by ptting a fair amount of hay or even dried grass in between the layers, so that is works as an insulation against the cold, when winters were particurarly harsh.

  17. I think they're giant's pants! Love your work. Any chance you could do a 'Stark men' costume breakdown? Covering Ned/Robb/Jon and the other minor characters of the first few seasons and beyond.

  18. Love your videos so much and i dont think its fair how some people jump the gun and they think that you are bashing the costume department but you are 100% right beacuse the under wear of a costume or outfit can truly ruin the beauty of it (example i think for a chiffon and sheer over lay fine light silk or stain is the best bet to put under it but that is my personal findings).

  19. No spoiler but Dany's outfit in episode 6 is to die for. She looks so ethereal and majestic. I can't wait for next episode's costume review. That outfit she wore is the Most beautiful piece I've ever saw in the show, it's all what I've been waiting for, something different than black.
